Paper Lanterns

Arts and Crafts
What You Need:
  • Chart paper
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Stapler
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Glue, glitter and sequins for decoration

[...]

Method:
  • To make the handle, take a ruler and measure and cut 1 inch off the short side of the chart paper. Keep it aside to use as the handle.
  • Now fold the paper in half along the length. Unfold the paper and draw a line 1 inch off both the long edges of the paper opposite the folded edge. This line marks the point where you should stop cutting.
  • Starting at one stop cutting line, draw lines to the opposite stop cutting line using a ruler. The lines should be 1 inch apart.
  • Fold the paper along the folded edge and start cutting on the marked lines till the stop cutting line comes. Then open the paper and turn it over to hide the pencil marks.
  • Fold and match the short edges and stick them with tape to hold the lantern together.
  • Now you can attach the handle using a stapler on the top of the lantern.
  • You can use glue, glitter, sequins or the things you like to decorate your lantern.
