Earth Day T-Shirt

Arts and Crafts
What You Need:
  • White t-shirt
  • Fabric paint in brown, pink, yellow and shades of green
  • Small piece of foam cut in the shape of a leaf
  • Paintbrushes in various sizes
  • Alphabet foam stamps (available at a hobby store)
  • Silver glitter 3D fabric paint
  • Cardboard
  • Insert a piece of cardboard into the t-shirt and place it on a flat surface.
  • Position the letters spelling out 'Plant a Tree for Me' on the t-shirt. If you don't have foam stamps, you can write out the letters using a pencil and then go over them with paint.
  • Paint each alphabet stamp with dark green paint and gently yet firmly press it onto the t-shirt. Lift the stamp straight up to ensure it does not smudge the area. Print one alphabet at a time to get a clean look.
  • Use a paintbrush to paint the trunk of a tree onto the t-shirt.
  • Use different shades of green paint and the leaf-shaped foam stamp to add leaves all over the top of the tree.
  • Use a small paintbrush to add two more baby trees, one on each side of the large tree. Add a few leaves to each baby tree.
  • Paint some grass along the bottom of the trees and use the pointed end of a paintbrush to make colourful dots that resemble flowers.
  • Once this is dry, carefully outline the letters with squeezable 3D paint.
  • Let the t-shirt dry for 24 hours.
  • Your t-shirt is ready to be worn on Earth Day!
