Paper Peacock

Arts and Crafts

What you need:

  • Chart paper in white, yellow, blue and 2 shades of green
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Toothpicks
  • Tape
  • White paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Black marker

  • Take a piece of blue chart paper and fan-fold it.
  • Glue the chart paper at the centre and fan it out.
  • Make three such half pinwheels of different sizes the largest in dark green, the medium one in yellow and the smallest in blue.
  • Take another piece of blue chart paper and cut it into the shape of a duck's body as shown. Cut yellow chart paper into the shape of a beak and two legs. Stick them on the body.
  • Take a thick strip of yellow paper and stick it behind the body.
  • Use the pointed end of the paintbrush and white paint to create spots on the body.
  • Stick the pinwheels on the yellow strip behind the body. Stick the blue one first, then the yellow and finally the green.
  • Cut yellow paper in the shape of a crescent moon and cut a circle from white paper. Stick them on the body as the hand and eye of the peacock. Fill in the eye using a black marker as shown.
  • Cut small petals out of the light green chart paper. Next, cut circles out of the yellow paper. Cut the blue paper into heart shapes.
  • Stick a yellow circle 2cms above the base of the green petal. Then stick the blue heart shape between the yellow circle and the green petal. Take a toothpick and stick it on the back of the petal to finish your peacock feather. Make many such feathers.
  • Now clip the feathers one by one on the pinwheels.
  • Your peacock is ready!
