The government of Maharashtra has launched a unique bus that provides counselling, education, medical check-ups and various other facilities to street children in Thane. This is the first bus of its kind to operate in Maharashtra. Similar buses will soon operate in Pune, Mumbai and Nagpur. The buses are furnished with a variety of amenities including closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras and global positioning system (GPS) trackers to ensure the safety of the children on board.
