Test-tube Cubs

News
A team of research scientists from the University of Pretoria, South Africa has helped a lioness give birth to two healthy cubs–a male named Viktor and a female named Isabel–at the Ukutulu Game Reserve & Conservation Centre via aided fertilisation or artificial insemination. According to Dr Isabel Callealta, the main researcher of this project, these are the world’s first test-tube lion cubs. The feat could offer hope for saving other animals like tigers and snow leopards, who are threatened by extinction.
