Chocolate Christmas Tree

What You Need:
  • Milk chocolate - 300 gms 
  • Chopped nuts - 1 1/2 cups 
  • Shredded coconut - 3/4 cup 
  • Icing sugar for dusting
  • Ask a parent or adult to help with this recipe
Method:
  • Break the chocolate into pieces and melt it in a microwave or double boiler till it is smooth.
  • Add the chopped nuts and coconut and stir until the nuts are well-coated with the coconut and chocolate.
  • Lay out sheets of baking paper on trays and spoon the mixture into cross shapes such that they start to resemble a tree, starting with the largest cross for the bottom of the tree and gradually getting smaller.
  • Allow the crosses to set in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
  • Using a serving plate or cake board and starting with the largest cross, build your tree.
  • Once complete, allow your tree to chill for a further 20 minutes in the refrigerator.
  • Decorate with icing sugar gently pushed through a tea strainer.
