Crispy Chicken

What You Need: 
  • 400 grams boneless chicken, cut into very thin strips
  • Oil for deep-frying
  • 4 teaspoons refined flour
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 medium onion
  • 4 green chillies
  • 1 medium green capsicum, cut into strips
  • 1 medium red capsicum, cut into strips
  • 1 teaspoon green chilli sauce
  • Ask a parent or adult to help you with this recipe
  • Place the chicken strips in a bowl.
  • Heat sufficient oil in a wok.
  • Add the refined flour, salt and cornstarch in the bowl with the chicken and mix well.
  • Deep-fry the chicken strips in hot oil till they are golden and crisp.
  • Cut the onion into 2 halves and slice.
  • Take 4 teaspoons of oil from the wok and add to another non-stick wok placed on heat.
  • Slice the green chillies lengthwise.
  • Add the onions to the oil in the wok and sauté. Add the green and red capsicum strips and sauté well.
  • Add the fried chicken, sliced green chillies, green chilli sauce and salt to the wok. Mix well and cook for a minute.
  • Serve hot.
