Gingerbread Man Cookie

What You Need:
  • 175 grams refined flour
  • 1½ teaspoons dried ginger powder
  • 2 tablespoons castor sugar
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • ½ cup butter
  • 4 tablespoons golden syrup
  • ¼ cup white sugar glaze
  • ¼ cup pink sugar glaze
  • ¼ cup green sugar glaze
  • Edible colourful stars for decoration
  • Edible colourful balls for decoration
  • Ask a parent or adult to help you with this recipe.
  • Take 175 grams of flour in a bowl. Add the castor sugar, baking soda, cinnamon powder and dried ginger powder.
  • Melt butter in the microwave for 30 seconds and add to the flour mixture along with the golden syrup and knead into a semi-stiff dough.
  • ŽDivide the dough into large equal portions and roll out into semi-thick discs.
  • Coat the base of a gingerbread cookie cutter with some flour and cut each disc into the shape of a gingerbread man.
  • Line a baking tray with a silicon mat and place the cookies. Put the tray into the preheated oven to 180̊C and bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and cool.
  • Fill white sugar glaze, pink sugar glaze and green sugar glaze in individual piping bags and pipe them out on the cookies equally.
  • Decorate with edible colourful stars and balls and serve.
