Healthy Protein Pulao

Recipes
What You Need:
  • Basmati rice, soaked - 1 1/2 cups
  • Soya granules, soaked in 1 cup water - 1 cup
  • Oil - 3 to 4 tablespoons
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon - 1inch stick
  • Cloves - 3 to 4
  • Green cardamoms - 2 to 3
  • Onions, chopped - 3 medium
  • Ginger, chopped -1inch piece
  • Garlic, chopped - 10 cloves
  • Red chilli powder - 1 1/2 tablespoons
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 tablespoon
  • Tomatoes, chopped - 3 to 4 large
  • Green peas, parboiled - 1 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Vegetable stock - 3 cups
  • Ask a parent or adult to help you with this recipe
Method:
  • Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, cinnamon, cloves, green cardamoms and onions. Sauté for two minutes and add ginger, garlic and sauté for another minute.
  • Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and continue to saute. Add a little water so that the masala does not burn.
  • Add tomato and soya granules. Cook for a minute and add green peas, salt and coriander leaves.
  • Add rice and stir. Add three cups of vegetable stock and stir. When it comes to a boil, lower the heat, cover and cook till the rice is done.
  • Serve hot with raita
