Penne Pasta Cake

What You Need:
  • 1 packet penne pasta
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 2 medium onions, cut into ¼ inch pieces
  • 1 green capsicum, cut into ¼ inch pieces
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 1 bottle tomato basil sauce
  • 1½ cups white sauce
  • 2 cups grated processed cheese
  • Ask a parent or adult to help you with this recipe.
  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Boil the penne, drain and refresh it in cold water. Drain again and apply 1 tablespoon oil. Grease a spring form cake tin.
  • Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a non-stick pan, add onions and sauté for a minute. Add the green capsicum, salt and black pepper powder and mix. Add tomato basil sauce and mix.
  • Add the penne pasta and mix well. Add ½ cup white sauce and mix well. Transfer into the spring form tin, press lightly and level the surface.
  • Put the remaining white sauce on top. Sprinkle the cheese and pat lightly. Keep the cake tin in the preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 150°C and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Let it stand for a few minutes. Cut into wedges and serve.
