Sesame Chicken

What You Need:
  • 1 tablespoon white sesame seeds
  • 400 grams boneless chicken breast, cut into pieces
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 4 tablespoons sweet red chilli sauce
  • 2 teaspoons refined flour
  • ½ egg
  • 1-inch piece of ginger
  • 1 teaspoon soya sauce
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch slurry
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • ¼ teaspoon vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red chillies
  • Salt to taste
  • Ask a parent or adult to help you with recipe.
  • Dry roast the sesame seeds till they start popping. Remove from heat and cool.
  • Heat oil in a non-stick pan.
  • Take the chicken pieces in a bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of chilli sauce, the refined flour and egg and mix well.
  • Put the chicken pieces in the pan, one by one, so that they don’t stick to each other and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Grate the ginger in the pan and add 2 tablespoons of water and toss to mix.
  • Add the remaining chilli sauce and soya sauce, mix well and cook till done.
  • Add the cornstarch slurry and mix well. Add the honey and toss to mix.
  • Add the vinegar and mix well. Add the crushed red chillies and salt and mix well.
  • Place the cooked chicken on a serving platter, sprinkle the roasted sesame seeds on top and serve hot.
