Are we addicted to smart phones? How did you spend most of your day? Waking up with the alarm set on your mobile phone, spending time on your phone before even starting your daily chores, glued on to your computer or phone for hours at work and continuing to check texts during dinner. Across all age segments be it children, teenagers or adults – all of us are suffering to an extent, from addiction to Mobile or Computers. Technology is meant to be an enabler helping us to stay in touch with family and friends and offer assistance at any point of time. The problem is not the mobile itself, we are the problem instead. The more we understand our smartphone usage, the easier it will be to curb our addiction. Recognize the triggers that make you reach for your smartphone. Is it when you are lonely or bored? If you are struggling with anxiety or depression, your smartphone usage might be a way to soothe your rocky moods. Each of us need to have a plan to replace the smartphone with other activities like playing with the friends or reading a book. We are the youth of the 21st century – We are the present and the future. And its upto us whether we control our smart phones or they control us. Let’s delete the excess games and applications. Let us be smarter than our smart phones. Let us focus on our friends and the betterment of our society. Let’s boyfriend technology and not be its slave
