7th National Montessori Conference

The Indian Montessori Foundation (IMF), together with the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), has organised the 7th National Montessori Conference on January 23 and 24 in Mumbai. The event called Saparya is centered around the theme, Serving One-Serving All, and is focussed on the Montessori educational method in India. The event will bring together educators, parents, schools and Montessori experts. It will include talks by international Montessorians and will facilitate interactions and discussions among attendees.

The Montessori method, created by Italian educator Maria Montessori, offers practical experiences and helps children learn based on their interests. Here are some tips from the philosophy that students of all ages can use in their daily life:

• Stay organised and presentable: Keep yourself and your surroundings clean and care for plants or greenery around you.
• Plan your work: Use checklists, schedules or countdown calendars to manage tasks and exam preparation.
• Learn by helping: Share your skills with others, learn from them and take part in household chores to build responsibility. 
• Use hands-on models to learn: Use charts, models and real-life examples to understand concepts better.
• Reflect daily: Take time to think about your day, learn from mistakes and stay calm during challenges
