The title of the book relates to the spring season when the birds couldn't sing as they had all died from the overuse of pesticides. The name is also inspired by a poem by famous poet John Keats. The book is truly interesting to read as it shows us that the use of pesticides affects not just plants and animals, but also human beings. It is a very famous book that is used as a teaching tool even at the college level.
