What You Need:
- Two magnets
- One rubber band
- One metal car
- Take one magnet, a metal car and the rubber band.
- Place the magnet on top of the metal car using a rubber band.
- Take the second magnet and hold it behind the metal car (without touching the car) and push the car forward without touching the magnet to the car.
Magnetism (an invisible force) can push and pull through some materials such as paper and plastic. All magnets have two ends or poles (North and South). If you put the poles of two magnets together, they will either pull together or push apart. They will pull (attract) each other if the poles are different. They will push (repel) each other if the poles are the same. Look for magnets in old toys or on fridge stickers, or buy a bar or horseshoe magnet from a toy shop.
