LESHAN GIANT BUDDHA

It is a statue of Maitreya in sitting posture. Located to the east of Leshan City in Sichuan Province, China the statue stands at the confluence of three rivers namely Min, Qingyi and Dadu. The statue took people more than 90 years to carve and is the biggest carved stone Buddha in the world. The statue is 71mts tall.

USHIKU DAIBUTSU AMIDA BUDDHA 

It is located in Japan and is the world's tallest freestanding bronze statue. It is 120mts tall. An elevator takes visitors up to 85mts off the ground, where an observation floor is located. It stands in the center of the Joodo Teien garden.

CHRIST - THE REDEEMER

Is is located in Brazil is one of the best known and most visited monuments in the world. This 130ft statue of Jesus Christ with outstretched arms overlooks Rio de Janeiro from atop Mount Corcovado. The statue was built in pieces in France starting in 1926 and shipped to Brazil. A railway carried it up the 2,343ft mountain for the 1931 inauguration. It has been selected as one of the Seven Wonders of the world for its outstanding beauty.

THE STATUE OF LIBERTY 

The statue was gifted by France to the people of United States in the year 1886. This 93mt tall statue is a symbol of freedom and democracy. When the statue needed to be shipped from France to New York it had to be broken down into 350 individual pieces and packed into 214 crates. There are seven rays on the crown of Lady Liberty, one for each of the seven continents.

LORD HANUMAN

This statue stands 85ft tall at the Datta Yoga Center, Caripichaima in Trinidad and Tobago. This is one of the tallest statues of Hanuman in the world.
