This marrow weighs 65kgs and was grown by Ken Dade in Norfolk, London. The marrow required two people to carry it! It entered the Guinness Book of World Records book for the largest marrow. Vegetables like squash and cucumber are from the marrow family.
WORLD'S HEAVIEST JACKFRUIT
The world's heaviest jackfruit was grown by George and Margaret Schattauer of Captain Cook, Hawaii, USA. It weighed 34.6kgs and was 57.46cms long.
WORLD'S LARGEST GREEN CABBAGE
The world's largest green cabbage weighed 34.4kgs and was grown by John Evans, a mechanical designer living in Palmer, Alaska, USA. This green cabbage made a world record in 1998.
WORLD'S HEAVIEST CARROT
The world's heaviest carrot, weighing 8.61kgs, was grown by John Evans. It was recorded in the Guinness Book of Records as the heaviest carrot in the world. John has made seven world records including a record for growing the world's largest green cabbage and cauliflower.
WORLD'S BIGGEST SWEET POTATO
The world's biggest sweet potato, weighing 11.2kgs, was grown by Khalil Semhat, a Lebanese farmer from the city of Tyre, Lebanon. He was shocked when he realised that he had grown this giant sweet potato.
WORLD'S LARGEST WATERMELON
The world's largest watermelon weighed 122kgs and was grown at the Hope Farm Store, USA by Lloyd Bright. It made a world record in the spring of 2006. This family also holds other records for watermelons.
WORLD'S LARGEST CAULIFLOWER
The world's largest cauliflower was grown by John Evans. It weighed 14.1kgs. John is the same man who grew the world's largest carrot and green cabbage.
