A mysterious 4,000kg, 23ft-long sea creature washed up on Broad Haven South Beach in Pembrokeshire, Wales, UK. The carcass had remains of grey-coloured skin with bone-like elements visible. Since the animal had been dead for long and had started to decompose, no head or limbs were visible. Though the animal was the size of a large whale, an internal study of the animal carcass proved that it wasn’t a whale, but could be a basking shark. Scientists are hopeful that they will be able to map it to a known species in a few months.
