Airport authorities at the Jay Prakash Narayan Airport in Patna recently introduced a regular air ambulance service for passengers who need to travel from Patna to other destinations in India in case of medical emergencies. A special counter dedicated to running this service was recently inaugurated at the airport by Bihar’s health minister. The service will provide a small airplane loaded with special medical equipment, medication and trained individuals to transport critically ill patients. Charges for the air ambulance will range between ₹4.5 lakh and ₹5.75 lakh. The service will soon be introduced in Gaya and Ranchi too.
