Anganwadis Turned Into Pre-primary Schools

3,621 anganwadi centres across the Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh have been turned into pre-primary English medium schools. The centres are now being called YSR Pre-Primary Schools. At the centres, children in the age group of three to five years are taught rhymes, easy maths and science and are given puzzles to help them develop their mental abilities.

The curriculum has been developed under the supervision of the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) to foster creativity within children. In addition, the schools are also providing the children with nutritious food under the YSR Comprehensive Nutrition Scheme.
