After the Lakshman Jhula in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, was declared unfit and closed down, the state authorities have decided to create a new bridge with a glass floor. The length of the bridge will be 132.2mts. The project, which is currently under approval, is estimated to be
completed by 2021. According to authorities, only lightweight vehicles will be allowed to use the bridge to avoid excess wear and tear.
