Veterinary clinics in Russia have started vaccinating pets against COVID-19. In March, Russia registered its first vaccine for animals named ‘Carnivak-Cov’. To date, Russia has already distributed 17,000 doses of the vaccine for animals. According to scientists, there is no evidence that animals play a significant role in spreading the disease to humans, but the virus has infected some species of animals. A second animal vaccine is being developed by Zoetis, a veterinary pharmaceutical company in the USA. Tests conducted on dogs, cats, foxes, minks and other animals have shown the presence of antibodies in the body after the shot.
