Donating Unsold Meals

In October 2018, Travel Food Services (TFS), a company that runs food and beverage outlets at Mumbai and Delhi airports, associated with an NGO called Feeding India to donate unsold food from the airports. On the days of flight delays and cancellations, they collect and donate 1,000 to 1,500 meals from the airports. The food is collected by TFS employees at the end of each day and sent for testing before it is sent for donation. The food is donated to children within 5kms of the airports so it can be consumed within 90 minutes of collection. TFS is now planning to expand this initiative to Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata and Goa airports this year.
