General Charles Brown Jr has been appointed the first black US Air Force Chief. He was sworn in amidst protests over the death of a black man, George Floyd, at the hands of a police officer. Brown’s confirmation is a moment of history as he is the first African American to serve as a chief in the US military. Till recently, he served as the commander of US Pacific Air Forces. He has been a fighter pilot with more than 2,900 flying hours.
