15-year-old Indian American Gitanjali Rao from Denver, Colorado, USA, has been named by TIME Magazine as the first-ever ‘Kid of the Year’. She is a young scientist and inventor who has been recognised for her astonishing work. When Rao was in class 2 or 3, she started using technology to tackle social issues like contaminated drinking water, cyber bullying and drug addiction. Her mission is to create a global community of young innovators that is capable of solving the world’s problems. Gitanjali was selected as the Kid of the Year from amongst 5,000 US-based nominees.
