The Navonmesh Prasar Student Astronomy Team (NaPSAT) from Odisha has been selected to participate in the NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge, which is scheduled for April 2021. NaPSAT is an initiative of the Bhubaneswar-based Navonmesh Prasar Foundation. The foundation consists of a team of space enthusiasts who specialise in astronomy and designing space systems, rockets, rovers and satellites.

According to NaPSAT’s founder Anil Pradhan, this is the first time that India has been selected for this challenge. The NaPSAT team consisting of 10 school students will represent India in Alabama, USA. The team will create a human-powered rover that can handle the weight of two people and move on the surface of Mars and the moon.
