Kadapala Rithvika Sri, a nine-year-old girl from St Vincent De Paul English Medium School, Andhra Pradesh, became Asia’s youngest girl to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa. Rithvika climbed to Gilman’s Point, which is 5,681mts above sea level. She, along with her father Kadapala Sankar, a cricket coach for the Special Olympics, peaked on February 25. Rithvika has done her Level 1 training in mountaineering at the Rock Climbing School in Bhongir, Telangana, and her Level 2 training in Ladakh.
