Kolkata College Goes Eco-friendly

The JD Birla Institute in Kolkata, West Bengal, has made its campus plastic-free. It has also created a vertical garden made of plastic bottles that were contributed by college students and set up a rainwater harvesting facility on the premises of the college. To maintain this eco-friendly drive, the college’s nature club team will conduct various workshops and awareness sessions on how to tackle plastic waste. It will also educate students on how to promote sustainable environmental practices. The team will ensure that strict segregation systems are followed by students on the campus. The students have also been provided with bags made out of eco-friendly materials so that they can stop using polythene bags.
