World para-badminton champion Manasi Joshi now has a Barbie doll modelled after her! The doll joined the Barbie Sheroes Club on October 11, which is the International Day of the Girl Child. Joshi is the second Indian woman and the first Indian para-athlete to have a Barbie doll modelled after her. For Joshi, sports was always a part of her life, even before she met with a road accident in 2011 that forced her to have her left leg amputated. In August 2019, she was crowned the para-badminton champion at the World Championships in Basel, Switzerland. Joshi joins the likes of tennis player Naomi Osaka, boxing champion Nicola Adams Obe, wheelchair racing champion Madison De Rozario and para-swimming champion Sumeyye Boyaci who have had Barbie dolls modelled after them.
