The COVID-19 crisis has forced airlines to add new menu options to their food and beverage offerings. Since domestic airlines started in May, airlines have added immunity booster beverages like haldi doodh (turmeric milk), rasam (spiced tomato soup), tulsi-mint shikanji, saffron sattu shake and amla aam panna to their menus. Delhi airport has seen the highest sale of haldi doodh, while Kolkata airport has seen the highest sale of the tulsi-mint shikanji and Chennai airport reported a good sale of rasam. Another dish that is doing well at Indian airports is curd rice, as it is light and healthy.
