Aishwary Tomar, a young shooter, smashed a world record in the finals of the ISSF Junior World Championships held in Lima, Peru, to win gold in the men’s 50mt rifle 3 positions event. Tomar scored 1185 in the qualification to top the field. In the final, he scored 463.4, finishing close to seven points ahead of his opponent Frenchman Lucas Kryzs, who won the silver with a score of 456.5, while Gavin Barnick of the USA won the bronze with a score of 446.6. In the championships, India topped the table with 43 medals including 17 gold, 16 silver and 10 bronze.
