Some of the new COVID-19 vaccines will be needle-free and will not need sub-zero temperatures for storage. These vaccines will be ready for use by the end of 2021 or early 2022. Close to eight new vaccines may complete clinical studies and undergo regulatory testing by the end of 2021. The no-needle experimental vaccines use alternative technologies and delivery systems like oral consumption, delivery via nasal spray and delivery via a skin patch. This type of immunisation will be better suited to specific groups such as pregnant women, senior citizens or those who cannot get out of their homes.
