World tennis men’s number one player Novak Djokovic was disqualified from the US Open 2020. During the fourth round match between Djokovic and Spain’s Pablo Carreno Busta, he slammed the ball behind him and got disqualified from the match and the tournament as the ball struck a line judge in the throat. He lost all his ranking points earned at the US Open and was fined for the accident. As per the Grand Slam rule book, his actions were judged as intentionally hitting a ball dangerously or recklessly within the court or hitting a ball with negligent disregard of the consequences.
