Since schools in the United States have started reopening with safety measures in place, two class 1 teachers, Patricia Dovi and Kim Martin from St Barnabas Episcopal School, DeLand, Florida, converted their students’ desks into miniature jeeps. When the school decided to cover the desks with three-sided plexiglass as part of its safety protocols, the teachers came up with the brilliant idea to redesign the desks with colourful grills, paper tyres, headlights and nameplates. The teachers handed the students keys to their desks with instructions to stay inside their "jeeps” and only step out wearing a mask. This creative change helped maintain social distancing and ensured the students adjusted to the new normal without being scared or worried.
