Prasiddhi Singh, a class 3 student of Mahindra World School, Chennai, has been honoured with the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar for excellence in the field of social service. Singh has planted over 13,500 fruit trees, which in turn feed birds and squirrels and provide fresh fruit for everyone. Prasiddhi has also created around 13 fruit forests across government schools, offices and public places. She is the youngest awardee and the only child from Tamil Nadu to receive this award under this category. She has also been featured in the India Book of Records as the youngest fruit forest creator in India.
