The environment department of Maharashtra recently approved a project to construct the state’s first marina in Navi Mumbai. The project will be overseen by the City Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO), Maharashtra Maritime Board (MMB) and SHO Marina, a private firm. It will be implemented in two phases that will include marina and non-marina activities. Parking space and maintenance workshops will be constructed for boats and other water vessels. Also, a garden and a play area will be developed for children and visitors. The project will be completed in two years.
