Tiger Spotted After 81 Years!

For the first time in 81 years, a tiger has been spotted in Maharashtra’s Gautala Autramghat Wildlife Sanctuary. The fully-grown adult male tiger was first spotted in the sanctuary on March 11, 2021. Officials believe the tiger could have crossed over from the Tipeshwar Sanctuary in Yavatmal, which is 330kms away, in search of prey.

The tiger is said to have travelled via Pandharkawda, Umarkhed, some parts of Telangana, Akola, Dnyanganga (Buldhana) and Hingoli to reach Gautala from the Ajanta mountain ranges. The route animals travel on is referred to as a corridor.
