World’s Biggest Drone

News

The world’s biggest drone, Ravn X, created by US firm Aevum, is all set to send low-Earth orbit satellites into space. The giant drone is 80ft long and 18ft tall with a wingspan of 60ft. The drone will fly to a specific altitude and launch a rocket from there to deliver a payload of small satellites into low-Earth orbit. The launch system is 70% reusable.

The US Space Force has already issued a contract to Ravn X to deliver 360 satellites to low-Earth orbit. Using the drone to launch satellites will cut costs as it is not just reusable, but has also been designed to deliver satellites every 180 minutes and does not need a launchpad—it can fly out of a runway that is shorter than 2kms in length.
