World’s Fastest Train Unveiled

Maglev train has completed its first trial. The train, which is capable of running at a speed of 600kms per hour, took 2.5 hours to travel between Beijing and Shanghai, which is a journey of more than 1,000kms. This is now the quickest way to travel between the two cities; a direct flight takes three hours and the high-speed rail takes 5.5 hours.

Manufactured in the coastal city of Qingdao, the Maglev train is known to be the fastest ground vehicle in the world. This train works using electromagnetic force—the train levitates on the track with no contact between the train and the rail. Germany and Japan also plan to build Maglev networks.
