Portuguese football player Cristiano Ronaldo has purchased the world’s most expensive car, the Bugatti La Voiture Noire, which is worth over £9 million. The car was first unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2019. Currently, only one prototype of the supercar has been built as it is a tribute to the 110th anniversary of the founding of the company. The car is modelled after the legendary Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic, which was created between 1936 and 1938. The Bugatti La Voiture Noire is powered by an 8-litre turbocharged W16 engine and can reach speeds of up to 420km/hr. In addition, it has six exhaust pipes and illuminated lettering. Ronaldo will have to wait until 2021 to drive the car as the company is still in the process of finalising minor details on the prototype.
