What You Need:
- 2 cups rice flour
- 1 cup multi-millet flour
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- ½ teaspoon cardamom powder
- 1 egg white
- Water
- Oil for deep frying
- 1 cup sugar or more if needed
- Ask a parent or an adult to help you with this recipe.
- Sieve the wheat, millet and rice flours. Combine them in a mixing bowl.
- Add the cardamom powder and mix well. In another bowl, add the sugar and ¼ cup water to it. Mix till the sugar dissolves completely.
- Add the egg white to the flour mixture and mix well. Add the dissolved sugar to the same mixture and make a runny batter. Make sure no lumps are left behind. If the batter is thick, add water to make it runny. Keep it aside for 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pan and place the rose cookie mould in oil. Once it is hot, take the mould out carefully and immerse it in the batter till it covers ¾th of the mould. Next immerse the mould in hot oil and leave it in for a few seconds. With the help of a fork, release the cookie into the oil.
- Fry the cookie till it is golden brown. Always keep the burner on a low-medium flame while frying the cookies.
- Make cookies out of all the batter.
- Store the cookies in an air-tight container.
