What You Need:
For the Kofta:
- 1½ cups shredded red cabbage
- ½ cup besan atta (gram flour)
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon chilli powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons refined oil
- 4 cloves
- 2 cardamoms
- 1 bay leaf
- 6 peppercorns
- 1-inch cinnamon stick
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 3 onions, finely chopped
- 8 cloves garlic, chopped
- 2 green chillies, slit
- 4 tomatoes, pureed
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- Salt as per taste
- Ask a parent or adult to help you with this recipe.
For the Kofta:
- Mix all the ingredients together and make small balls.
- Deep fry them till golden brown or air fry them for 10 minutes at 70% power.
- You can also use an appe pan to cook the kofta balls.
- Sauté the whole spices in the refined oil for 4 to 5 minutes till they are aromatic.
- Add the onion, garlic and green chillies to the pan and sauté till golden brown.
- Once the onions are caramelised, add the tomato puree, turmeric powder, salt and coriander powder and bring it to a boil.
- Add the koftas to the sauce and cook for 5 to 7 minutes.
