Unnati Hooda, an Indian badminton player, made history on December 3 by becoming the first Indian to enter the under-17 women’s singles final of the Badminton Asia Junior Championships. She reached the final, held in Nonthaburi, Thailand, after defeating her opponent Mion Yokouchi from Japan 21-8, 21-17 in the semifinals. At 14 years of age, Hooda won the Odisha Open 2022, making her the youngest Indian shuttler to win a Badminton World Federation (BWF) Super 100 World Tour title. Hooda also bagged gold at the Khelo India Youth Games held in June 2022.
