The Mother Earth Laughs in the Form of Flowers!

Have you ever noticed the variety of plants and animals around you? There are so many of them that you do not even know the names of many species around you. All these species of plants and animals are collectively called Biodiversity. It also denotes every aspect of the ecosystem in the Environment such as micro-organisms, coral reefs, rainforests, deserts, forests etc. Biodiversity is the perfect example to prove that everything existing in this world has its own, unique value in the ecosystem. It is of extreme importance not only in our lives but also for the mutual existence of other species on the Earth thus, Biodiversity plays a major role in maintaining the balance of the Earth.
In brief, Environment is the floor where living organisms live and Biodiversity is its shelter protecting it from all odds. There is no Environment without biodiversity. If there is no environment then there are no living beings leading to the end of life on this planet including the human race! Yet it is sad to know that despite having the advantage of this knowledge we, humans still hurt the environment and the biodiversity in almost all the possible ways.
"What we are doing to the forests of the world is but a mirror reflection of what we are doing to ourselves and to one another” -- Mahatma Gandhi.
What is the use of a house if you haven't got a tolerable planet to put it on?
If we pollute the air, water and soil that keep us alive and well, destroy the biodiversity that allows natural systems to function, no amount of money will save us. Humans have a vital role to play to safeguard the Biodiversity and the associated ecosystems from Extinction. One of the main reasons that cause biodiversity loss is deforestation. The results of a recent study show that the decline in the numbers of large predators is disrupting Earth's ecosystem in all kinds of unusual ways on both oceans and land. To overcome the extinction of biodiversity, we should decrease the rate of deforestation in the world. One of the explications of deforestation is reforestation. Writing the same word is easy, but practically implementing it is much easier and a lot of fun! As a student, I can say that promoting practical usage of saving the environment and interacting with biodiversity can start from all the schools rather than reading about it in big textbooks and visiting zoos. Biodiversity can't be maintained by protecting a few species in a zoo or by preserving greenbelts or national parks. To function properly, nature needs more room than that. All it needs is to be left alone. Last but not the least we all can and must protect our Biodiversity and Environment by recycling, reusing and reducing. "We should preserve every scrap of biodiversity as priceless while we learn to use it and come to understand what it truly means to humanity.”
