A lot of adventures can be found in a good book. Especially my favorite one – "Grandma’s Bag of Stories” by Sudha Murty. The book features a group of cousins who meet at their ajji’s (grandmother) house for their summer holidays. She is a lovable woman and a great storyteller. The book contains a series of interesting short stories. Grandma tells the stories over long summer days and nights, as seven children enjoy life in her little town. The stories entertain, educate and provide hours of enjoyment to them. The part I love most is the ending, as every story always ends with a valuable lesson.

The author has really worked hard to publish this book and taken the time to imagine and build each story. The author has mentioned in the book that some of these stories were told to her by her grandparents and the others she heard in her day to day life , by her friends parents or relatives . She also wrote some stories by herself. After all, who can resist entertaining tales about cheats, mice, Gods, kings, monkeys or bears especially when it is being told by grandma!!! There are two other books written in this series – ‘The Magical Drum’, and ‘How I taught my Grandmother to Read and Write’. Both these books include other short and amusing stories as well! Everyone gathers around when grandma opens her bag of stories!
