“Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day”

I wanted to be the head girl of my wing for the past two years but hadn’t got the chance? In April 2020 when an online mode of the school had begun, the school took to conducting the student council elections online with two rounds instead of one for selecting the members. Leading people and learning various things from it along with gaining lots of experiences has always been something that I wished to do and that’s why I gave my name for this post without a second thought. In a school like mine that has a lot of competition, winning this post required a lot of hard work and a deep knowledge about current affairs.

Along with that, I had to write an essay on leadership and record a speech video on the same. After around 30 takes of the speech video, I started working more and more towards winning the post each day by either preparing myself for the interview session or learning the current affairs. Fast forward to the day when the winners of the elections were being announced. My joy knew no bounds when I got to know that from that very moment, I was the head girl of my wing! Looking back at my days of preparation for the post I realised that slow progress with continuous hard work made it all possible. And that reminded me of the famous saying, "Rome wasn’t built in a day”
