The Struggle for The Third Gender..................
By Shruti Bansal, Class 9, DPS DHURI, Malerkotla
A transgender is mostly feminine and partly masculine. They are present in every country and in the U.S. only there are 700,000 individuals who are transgender. They are often ill-treated and they face various levels of poverty, discrimination and violence. They have also become a subject
to killing for being abnormal. At present, the government is planning to launch an Umbrella scheme to provide better education facilities to transgender children and provide financial aid to the unemployed transgender. I would like to say that they should be accepted and not ill-treated in the society. They are important as we are and must enjoy the same fundamental rights. We should support and not misbehave hurting their feelings.
