

Ruskin Bond was born in the town of Kasauli in Himachal Pradesh on May 19, 1934. He is one of India’s most popular authors, recognised for his simple yet profound storytelling, love of nature and nostalgic stories of boyhood and small-town life. His stories convey the essence of human emotions, adventure and the beauty of daily life. Bond has been honoured with the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1992, the Padma Shri in 1999 and the Padma Bhushan in 2014. Today, at 91 years of age, he continues to write books that appeal to all age groups.
