RobinAge was founded in 2008 to showcase the vast creative energy and passion in children—they have the potential to make impactful differences and change our world for the better.
In 2023, to mark 15 years of this inspiring journey, we launched our flagship RobinAge Bright Sparks Awards in a brand new format—to shine a light on the efforts, talents and achievements of children.
RBSA 2023 invited children to share with us stories of their accomplishments across innovation, academics, extracurricular activities, social work and more. And needless to say, the stories we received assure us that the world’s future is safe in the hands of our youngest generation.
The eight Bright Sparks of 2023 are children whose exemplary achievements span across the performing arts, creative writing, environmental and social work and sports.
Entries for RobinAge Bright Sparks Awards 2024-25 are now open!
What Makes a Bright Spark?
According to us, no one thing makes a child a Bright Spark. Here are some areas in which a Bright Spark might excel.
- Literature and the Arts: This includes children who possess exceptional command over the written word or those who excel at visual or performing arts—writers, poets, dancers, actors, singers, visual artists, digital artists, the list goes on.
- Community Service: This includes children who have made a positive impact on their community through efforts such as volunteering at an NGO, organising charity drives or participating in community projects to address social issues.
- Innovation in Technology: This includes young tech enthusiasts who have developed innovative solutions to everyday problems through inventions or apps that simplify our lives or address social issues.
- Environmental Action: This includes children who have dedicated their time to protecting and bettering the environment—those who have organised tree-planting campaigns, raised awareness about climate change or initiated projects to reduce, reuse and recycle waste and promote sustainability.
- Courage and Resilience: This includes brave-hearts who have shown remarkable courage in challenging situations—those who have overcome personal obstacles or adversity, inspired others with their strength or gone out of their way to help others.
- Entrepreneurship: This includes young innovators who have launched a business.
- Academic Excellence: This category is for young scholars who have excelled in academic pursuits. Here we are interested in the journey to achieving academic excellence, the lessons learnt and the challenges overcome, rather than the academic achievement itself.
- Sports and Athletics: This includes children who have excelled in sports and athletics including traditional sports, martial arts, individual sports or team sports.
