Faizan won the competition by spelling the word ‘eclaircissement’. He emerged victorious over his Indian-American fellow contestant Sarvadnya Kadam in the competition’s final round, winning $50,000. Faizan, a class 7 student at CM Rice Middle School, Texas, had secured the second place in the 2024 Scripps National Spelling Bee.
