13-year-old Indian-origin Boy Wins National Spelling Bee

Faizan Zaki, a 13-year-old boy of Indian origin, has won the 2025 Scripps National Spelling Bee. The event took place in May in Maryland, USA.

Faizan Zaki, a 13-year-old boy of Indian origin, has won the 2025 Scripps National Spelling Bee. The event took place in May in Maryland, USA. Faizan won the competition by spelling the word ‘eclaircissement’. He emerged victorious over his Indian-American fellow contestant Sarvadnya Kadam in the competition’s final round, winning $50,000. Faizan, a class 7 student at CM Rice Middle School, Texas, had secured the second place in the 2024 Scripps National Spelling Bee.
